Root. Release. Rise. Retreats
An immersive path to healing
October 22-25, 2026
East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania
Reclaim who you’ve always been
Tucked into the quiet of the Pocono mountains, Root. Release. Rise. is a three-day immersive retreat for those ready to stop carrying what was never theirs to carry. Held by licensed clinicians in a trauma-safe environment, we draw from inner child work, generational healing, and somatic practice in an intimate group of ten, where breath, sound, yoga, and communal silence become their own kind of medicine.
DAY 1 • THURSDAY EVENINGArrival
Arrive into stillness. Settle into your room. Be welcomed by warm food, gentle music, and a circle of fellow travelers. The first evening is intentionally slow, with orientation, intention-setting, and a soft opening ceremony to mark your entry into the work.
Welcome dinner • Opening circle • Setting intentions • Gentle grounding practice • Early rest
DAY 2 • FRIDAYRoot
The first full day belongs to grounding. We begin where the body begins, in breath and movement. Through morning yoga, somatic awareness practices, and our first group therapy session, you'll be invited to locate yourself in the present moment, in your nervous system, and in the truth of what brought you here.
Afternoon programming opens the door to inner child work, gently, slowly, with full clinical support. Evening closes with sound healing and reflective practice.
Morning yoga • Somatic group session • Inner child psychoeducation • First inner child meditation • Sound bath • Three nourishing meals • Reflective journaling
DAY 3 • SATURDAYRelease
The deepest day of the retreat. Today, with the safety of two days of grounding behind you, we move into the work of release. Group therapy explores generational and intergenerational wounds. Somatic practices help the body do what the mind alone cannot. Sound healing creates a container for what wants to come up.
This is the day many participants describe as the turning point, the day something old finally moves through them.
Morning yoga • Generational trauma group session • Somatic release work • Inner child reparenting practice • Extended sound healing • Group dinner • Optional fire ceremony
DAY 4 • SUNDAYRise
The closing day is about integration. How will you carry this home? Through closing group therapy, integration planning, and a final ceremony together, you'll begin to translate the inner shifts of the weekend into language, intention, and small steps you can return to in your everyday life.
Departure is Sunday evening or Monday morning, your choice. Either way, you leave with a full heart, an open chest, and a way home.
Morning yoga • Integration group session • Closing Ceremony • Take-home tools and practices • Post-retreat integration call • Departure dinner
DAY 5 • MONDAY (OPTIONAL EXTENSION)Stay one more night
For those who want additional time to integrate, a fourth night is available, included for participants who choose it. Some of the deepest work happens in the quiet hours after the closing, and we honor the wisdom of not rushing home.
A departure breakfast is offered Monday morning for those staying the additional night. Let us know during registration if you'd like to extend.

Arrive a day early to settle into the rhythm of the land before the work begins. Or stay a night after the retreat closes — to walk the grounds in silence, soak in the hot tub one more time, and let what moved in you have space to land before you return to the world.
Often the hours just before and just after a retreat hold as much medicine as the retreat itself. We offer this option for those who feel called to honor that.
Includes:
One additional night in your reserved accommodation
Breakfast the next morning
Continued access to the hot tub, sauna, pond, stream, and wooded grounds
ADD ONPrivate Reiki Session
$100 per 60-minute session
Offered in collaboration with Be Well Yoga & Reiki
A gentle, deeply restorative energy healing practice that supports the nervous system in moving from activation to rest. Many participants find that Reiki creates a felt sense of being held — exactly the kind of regulation that helps inner child work integrate at a body level.
Sessions can be added before, during, or after the retreat, based on practitioner availability.
ADD ONMyofascial Release
$125 per session
Offered by a licensed bodywork practitioner
Trauma is not only stored in memory — it lives in the body. Myofascial release is a slow, intentional bodywork practice that releases tension held in the fascia, the web of connective tissue that often carries decades of emotional and physical patterning.
For participants doing inner child work, this offering provides a somatic counterpart to the relational and emotional work happening in session. What the heart releases, the body often needs help releasing too.
Your investment includes
Individual & Group pre-retreat preparation call
Three nights of lodging in the Pocono mountains (Thursday–Sunday)
All meals, thoughtfully crafted by a private chef, accommodating dietary needs
An intimate setting limited to ten participants, far smaller and more personal than larger retreat centers
Seventeen hours of group therapy sessions held by licensed clinicians
Inner child reparenting work
Generational and intergenerational trauma work
Sound healing and breathwork sessions
Daily somatic movement practices and reiki
Opening and closing ceremonies
Take-home practices, tools, and reflective workbook
Post-retreat reflection work to ground your intentions

Hot tub

Snacks throughout

Retreat Cancellation by Awaken Wellness
In the unlikely event we must cancel the retreat (force majeure, facilitator illness, venue closure, government order, or other circumstances beyond our control), you will receive a full refund of all monies paid, including your deposit. We are not responsible for travel costs, lost wages, or other incidental expenses.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment. Policies that include "cancel for any reason" coverage are widely available and reasonably priced.
Partial Attendance
If you choose to leave the retreat early for any reason, no refund or credit will be issued. The retreat is designed as a continuous, integrated experience and cannot be prorated based on participation.
Why We Have a Strict Policy
We want to be transparent. Our cancellation policy is firm because:
We hold a limited number of spots and cannot easily refill a cancellation in the weeks leading up to the retreat
We commit to our venue, caterers, and contractors based on confirmed headcount
The pre-retreat preparation we do for each participant — screening calls, personalized materials, room assignments — cannot be recovered
We deeply respect that life happens, and we encourage every registrant to purchase travel insurance so that an unexpected event doesn't become a financial loss. A clear policy paired with insurance is more sustainable — and ultimately more compassionate — than a loose policy that quietly raises costs for everyone.

Root. Release. Rise. is an intimate, immersive healing retreat limited to 10 participants. Over four days in the peaceful surroundings of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, you will explore inner child wounds, examine the generational patterns that quietly shape how you move through the world, and build the self-awareness that transforms how you live, love, and relate. The retreat is facilitated by Awaken Wellness, P.C. in collaboration with Be Well Yoga & Reiki and combines trauma-informed clinical approaches with somatic healing, yoga, and restorative wellness practices.

-
It is both. The retreat is clinically informed and facilitated by a licensed mental health clinician, Chanel Tazza, LMHC, CASAC, CEAP, alongside wellness practitioners from Be Well Yoga & Reiki. While the retreat incorporates therapeutic frameworks and evidence-informed approaches, it is not a substitute for individual therapy. Participants are encouraged to have an ongoing therapeutic relationship to support integration after the retreat.
-
Root. Release. Rise. is intentionally small, no more than 10 participants, ensuring that every person in the room receives genuine depth of attention, care, and space. The programming blends clinical mental health expertise with somatic healing, yoga, reiki, and mindfulness practices. This is not a lecture series or a passive wellness weekend. It is an active, immersive, relational healing experience designed to create real and lasting change.
-
The retreat draws from narrative therapy, trauma-informed care, inner child work, somatic awareness, attachment theory, and intergenerational trauma frameworks. Expressive arts, movement, breathwork, and group processing are also woven throughout the programming.
-
The retreat spans four nights and five days, from arrival on October 22nd through departure on October 26th. A detailed daily schedule will be shared with registered participants closer to the event date.
-
Enrollment is strictly limited to 10 participants. This is intentional. Small group size is core to the Root. Release. Rise. experience, it creates the safety, intimacy, and relational depth that this level of healing work requires.
-
A detailed packing list will be provided upon registration. Generally, participants are encouraged to bring comfortable, layered clothing suitable for movement and outdoor time, a journal, any personal comfort items, and an open heart. -
Generally, cancellations made more than 60 days prior to the retreat date are eligible for a full or partial refund. Cancellations within 30 days of the retreat are non-refundable but may be transferable to a future retreat date at our discretion.
