THERAPY SERVICES

Couples Therapy

Two perspectives. One shared goal. A space where both are honored.

Couples therapy is a collaborative process designed to support partners in building a healthier, more fulfilling relationship. It is not about assigning blame or determining who is right it is about creating a space where both partners can be heard, understood, and supported in working toward shared goals.

Our methods

Modalities we use:

Internal Family Systems (IFS) for Couples

Adapts the IFS model to couples work, helping each partner understand the protective and wounded parts that show up in conflict. By learning to lead from a calm, compassionate self, partners can interrupt cycles and create new ways of relating.

Cognitive Behavioral Couples Therapy (CBCT)

Examines the thought patterns and behaviors that fuel conflict, helping couples identify unhelpful assumptions and replace them with more accurate, supportive ways of seeing each other and themselves.

Solution-Focused Therapy for Couples

A future-oriented approach that focuses on what is working, what each partner wants more of, and the small, achievable steps that move the relationship in that direction.

Narrative Therapy for Couples

Invites partners to examine the stories they tell about themselves, each other, and the relationship, separating who they are from the problems they face and authoring a new shared story together.

The Gottman Method

Based on more than 40 years of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, this approach focuses on building friendship, managing conflict productively, and creating shared meaning. It uses concrete tools to address the specific patterns that erode connection over time.

Relational Life Therapy (RLT)

Developed by Terry Real, RLT addresses the dynamics that create disconnection, particularly around power, accountability, and gender-based patterns. It is direct, compassionate, and especially helpful for couples where traditional approaches have not gone deep.

Attachment-Based Couples Therapy

Explores how each partner's early relational experiences shape current patterns of seeking closeness or creating distance, and creates space to build a more secure, responsive bond.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Developed by Sue Johnson, EFT is one of the most well-researched approaches to couples work. It identifies the negative cycles that keep partners stuck and helps each person express the deeper emotions and attachment needs underneath, creating safer and more connected bonds.

Culturally Responsive Practice

Honors the role of culture, identity, race, and lived experience in shaping your worldview and your healing, ensuring care that is affirming and relevant to who you are.
